What to put in Old World Apothecary Jars? - old ball jars

I have 3 jars of different sizes - 2 to 8 and also from different latitudes, like in a large glass and metal square coffee table. I unusual items from the old world to find, but I m confused.

I thought of old buttons, old doorknobs, old pieces of Scrabble, balls of wool, etc., but all seem to be a challenge or another.

Suggestions?
